The most common question at the counter before a weekend, and the one people get wrong in both directions. Here are the numbers we actually use.
Boneless meat, as a main course
- Adult, normal appetite: 200–250 g raw
- Big eaters or a meat-focused table: 300–350 g
- Children under twelve: 100–120 g
Add for bone
Bone is weight you buy and do not eat. Add roughly a third for cutlets and chops, and up to half for ribs and shanks. So 250 g of eating means about 350 g of chops, or one shank per person.
By product
- Şiş kebab / skewers: 250 g per person, or two skewers
- Köfte: 180–200 g, about four patties
- Lamb cutlets: 3–4 per person
- Whole leg of lamb: 2.5 kg feeds six to eight
- Steak: one 250–300 g piece each, cut thick rather than wide
Two things people forget
Meat loses roughly a fifth of its weight on the grill, so buy raw weight, not plate weight. And if there is bread, rice, salad and mezze on the table, drop the meat by about 20% — nobody finishes 300 g alongside a full spread.
Ordering for a crowd
For anything above about five kilos, give us a day’s notice so we can cut it properly rather than pulling whatever is in the display. Call the shop on +420 727 974 844.
Where to get it
All of it comes from our own farm near Rakovník and our own abattoir. You can buy it over the counter at Anatolia Meat Market, Na Poříčí 1933/36, Prague 1 (every day 09:00–21:00), order it online, or eat it cooked over charcoal next door at Anatolia Grill Restaurant.
